MOCA is ADA accessible and welcomes people of all abilities.

Site rental rates include the facility fee and event coordination as well as one and a half hours for set up and one hour for clean-up. Catering, to be arranged by renter, is not included in the site rental fee. All caterers must be approved by MOCA at least 10 business days before the scheduled event. MOCA can provide a list of preferred vendors whom we recommend to assure that your event runs smoothly. All outside vendors are required to supply a certificate of insurance.

Potential additional fees may apply for events over 100 guests, including security staffing, coat check, A/V assistance and additional set-up and break down.

Corporations and individuals are encouraged to become members of the Museum. Membership is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Corporate members at the Sustainer level ($5,000) and above include one rental at three hours (plus set up and break down time) within the membership year; additional fees may apply. For individual membership details, please contact our Development Department.

In addition, the MOCA welcomes conference groups and multi-hour meetings. A conference rental is defined as a six-to-eight-hour use of one space within the Museum, to begin and end—including set up and break down—within normal operating hours (10am-6pm.) Additional fees may apply. Non-profit and Community rate are available.

Restrictions
In order to protect the Museum’s collections and building, we enforce the following restrictions:
• No smoking is permitted within the building.
• No food or drink is permitted in the galleries when exhibitions are installed without express permission.
• No candles or open flame are permitted in any room (excluding use of sterno in the pantry).
• No flash photography permitted in the Core Exhibition galleries.
• Decorations are subject to Museum approval.
• No organizational logo may cover a MOCA logo (on signage, podium, etc.); all displays, decorations and logo usage must be approved by the Museum.
• The Museum reserves the right to approve all press releases and on-premises press coverage.
• All event dates and times must be vetted by MOCA. Rental time frames must also account for event set up and break down.
• MOCA reserves the right to refuse a request.
• Events will not be scheduled if the date and/or time conflict with pre-planned MOCA programs.

Private events may be held on any available day of the week with the exception of major holidays, holiday weekends, and Target Free Thursday evenings. MOCA is closed on Mondays and no event may be scheduled during the day or evening. Public and/or co-sponsored events may be held on Target Free Thursday evenings with special consideration. We recommend that events over two hours or 100 guests are scheduled at least two months in advance. Event date requests should be made in writing and before vendors or other assistance is booked; requests are subject to Museum availability. Event dates can be held without a deposit for up to 10 business days after the initial written request.

Event details, including but not limited to date, time, expected attendance, catering and other vendor needs, A/V services, and special considerations must be agreed upon in an event contract between the Museum and the renter. A non-refundable deposit is due upon execution of a signed event contract. Minor changes may be made in writing up to 24 hours before the event. Major changes must be agreed upon by both parties at least 48 hours before the event. Failure to inform MOCA of such changes may result in additional charges.

Renters are cautioned that gallery space options are subject to change due to the needs of the Museum and its exhibitions design, and that while the Museum will make every possible effort to inform renters of changes in advance, all rentals are subject to availability.

Cancellations to confirmed events must be made at least 10 business days before the scheduled event or additional cancellation fees may apply. If the event is cancelled within 10 business days of the event, the patron is responsible for fifty percent (50%) of the remaining total event fees.

Balance of rental payments will be due on the day of the event. The balance payment may be made with personal or certified bank checks. Final invoices and any incidental charges will be due within 15 days following the event.
