New Home for Chinese Experience in America

The New York Times featured the Museum of Chinese in America's prelude opening with an article in its Art & Design section and an online photo gallery of the Museum's newly renovated facilities at 215 Centre Street, designed by Maya Lin.  The article states that MOCA, "aims to make a big statement once it's fully moved in about the role that Chinese immigrants and their descendants have played in constructing American society."

As MOCA's Director, S. Alice Mong says, "The long-term goal is to create a national museum that will also be a cultural anchor” for Chinatown.  "There is a lot to do, we have many stories to tell, but we begin with this new building, which will allow us to have the programs to go along with what we envision."
