IF I WERE A SUPERHERO

A SOCIAL MEDIA DRAWING CONTEST FOR ALL ARTISTS AND COMICS FANS IN CONJUNCTION WITH A SEASON OF COMICS EXHIBITIONS AT MUSEUM OF CHINESE IN AMERICA (MOCA)

Inspired by the current exhibitions – Marvels & Monsters and Alt.Comics, on view through February 24, 2013 – the contest invites members of the public to submit a drawing of him or herself as a superhero. Drawings will be posted to MOCA’s Tumblr [http://chineseinamerica.tumblr.com/]. At the end of each month through the duration of the exhibition, MOCA curators Herb Tam and Ryan Wong will select their favorite drawings that garner the most “likes” and reblogs on Tumblr. At the beginning of the subsequent month, the curator-selected drawings will be featured digitally at the Museum’s lobby in New York City.

A grand prize winner will be selected among the finalists by MOCA curators. The winner will receive a copy of Secret Identities: The Asian American Superhero Anthology, a copy of Secret Identities Volume 2: Shattered, and a T-shirt created for the exhibition by Jerry Ma and signed by the artist.
