Youth Advisory Board 2011
Voices of Young America:
STEREOTYPES, INSIDE OUT & UPSIDE DOWN
The Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) is looking for dedicated NYC high school students to join our Youth Advisory Board (YAB) for summer 2011.
MOCA’s Youth Advisory Board brings together a group of committed New York City teens who want to engage with Chinese/Asian American history, explore issues that matter to youth in America and have a voice in their community. Weekly workshops provide an out-of-classroom learning experience where students are thinking creatively and critically, building leadership skills and documenting their experiences through multimedia technology. Working with MOCA’s education staff as well as teaching artists and guest lecturers, students will create a culminating digital project on the selected theme.
This summer, the program focuses on Media Representations of Asians and Asian Americans.
Apply today and be part of a community that is building a history for a better future!
