Media Production Internship

The Media Production Internship at the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) offers a unique opportunity for college students and recent graduates to participate in MOCA’s media and digital initiatives. The opportunity is ideal for individual who is interested in Chinese American history, media, digital collections, design, museum administration, or other related fields.

 

Responsibilities

• Assist with the creation of media content to support the viewing and understanding of MOCA’s collections and exhibitions
• Support multimedia production for fundraising purpose
• Assist with filming oral history interviews. Review, edit, identify interesting clips, upload footage, and create DVDs as needed
• Process and archive MOCA’s oral history collections; craft narratives and fill appropriate fields for each entry
• Conduct research on prospective community interviewees and partners
• Design video packaging materials
• Assist with photographing and videotaping MOCA’s exhibitions, programs, and fundraising events
• Perform administrative tasks related to the media production

 

Qualifications

• Excellent research skills and strong writing and communication abilities
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to work independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment; handle multiple tasks at once; and adhere to deadlines
• Experience with video camera, DSLR, and A/V editing software a plus
• Chinese language literacy is desired, but not required.
