Membership Internship

The Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA)’s Membership Internship provides an undergraduate or graduate student with a unique opportunity to gain skills and knowledge in finding sources of funding to support museum programs and operations with an emphasis on building and maintaining relationship with members.


Responsibilities
• Create and update member profiles in Tessitura database; assist with member tracking, member engagement, and stewardship.
• Assist staff in creating reports, and optimizing Tessitura database usage.
• Assist with drafting and assembling membership correspondence, including renewal notices, and acknowledgement letters.
• Support staff in the logistics, planning, and execution of fundraising and member events.

 

Qualifications
• Current undergraduate OR graduate student in any field. Recent graduates are welcome. An interest in non-profits/museum fundraising, marketing, and Chinese American history is preferred.
• Work experience in a professional office environment preferred.
• Excellent writing and research skills, as well as strong verbal communication skills.
• Experience with relational databases (i.e. Tessitura) preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstration of initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness in working effectively on multiple projects.
• Demonstrated interest in arts administration and/or development and fundraising.
• Occasional evening hours may be required for special events.
