Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) Individual Membership for IDNYC Card Holders

**IDNYC card holders must apply in-person at MOCA by December 31, 2017.**


What is IDNYC?


IDNYC is a government-issued photo identification card. IDNYC will secure the peace of mind and access to New York City services that come from having recognized identification. As an added benefit of enrollment, an IDNYC card entitles residents to complimentary benefits at various cultural institutions in New York City.

 

Who can obtain an IDNYC card?


All New York City residents. IDNYC benefits every city resident, including those in the most vulnerable communities: the homeless, youth, the elderly, undocumented immigrants, the formerly incarcerated, and others who may have difficulty obtaining other government-issued ID.

 

What is the cost of an IDNYC card?

What does MOCA offer IDNYC card holders?


MOCA is offering all 2015, 2016 and 2017 IDNYC card holders a free one-year membership at the Individual level. All IDNYC card holders must apply by December 31, 2017.

  • Free pass to 1 guided Chinatown Walking Tour (Advance registration required.)

When can I apply for the free MOCA Individual membership through IDNYC?


Starting January 2, 2016.

 

How do I apply for my MOCA Individual membership with my IDNYC card?


To apply, visit MOCA in-person at 215 Centre Street, New York, NY 10013. Please see Visitor Services at the front desk to register. MOCA is not currently accepting applications online, by mail, or by phone.

 

On subsequent visits to the Museum, simply present your IDNYC card to Visitor Services.

 

Do I need to have my physical IDNYC card before I apply for a membership at MOCA?


Yes, MOCA requires that all applicants show their IDNYC card when applying for membership.

 

Will I receive a MOCA membership card in the mail?

 

No, after signing up in-person for a MOCA membership, you will not receive a physical membership card. On subsequent visits to the Museum, simply show your IDNYC card to Visitor Services at the front desk for verification.

 

I am currently a MOCA member. Can I apply for a new membership with my IDNYC card?


Thanks for your support! Complimentary MOCA memberships are not available to existing members or to individuals whose membership, or spouse’s membership, has lapsed since January 1, 2013. However, existing or recently lapsed MOCA members can use their IDNYC to apply for a free membership at other participating institutions. If there is a question as to an individual’s eligibility for a free membership, please email Membership@mocanyc.org.
