Food plays a symbolic role during the Chinese New Year. Dumplings, in particular, signify longevity, prosperity, and family unity. Join Wai Hon Chu, co-author of The Dumpling: A Seasonal Guide (named by the New York Times as one of the best cookbooks of 2009), for a fascinating look at the culinary traditions behind this auspicious occasion.

Learn how to make some celebratory sesame-stuffed sticky rice dumplings to ring in the New Year or to surprise your valentine.
