Making Sense of Your Stuff: Personal Archiving 101

Tue, Nov 13, 2018 @ 12:30pm - 1:30pm

Tickets: Free with RSVP. RSVP by clicking here.

Do you have old family photographs that have started to curl? Important family documents that have started to fade or crumble? A dress from your grandmother that you want to save for future generations?

Join MOCA for our new preserving heritage workshop series! During the first session, the collections team will introduce you to archival materials that can be used to increase the longevity of your family artifacts. They will also explain why these materials are important, how to use them (with examples from the archives), and where to purchase them. Come with any questions you have about preserving your artifacts. This is a great way to spend your lunch break.

Don’t forget to make an appointment with the MOCA Collections team to digitize your family photos, paper documents, and/or 2-D mementos 11" x 17" or smaller. Click here for more information.

Tickets: Free with RSVP. RSVP by clicking here.

Location: This event will take place on the 2nd floor of 70 Mulberry Street at MOCA's Collections.

This workshop is part of MOCA's Preserving Family Heritage Workshop Series. Led by museum and archives professionals, these workshops will teach you expert techniques for preserving your heirlooms. Each workshop includes a presentation, demonstration, and opportunities for hands-on learning.
