Ugly Sweater Holiday Party

Celebrate the holiday season with MOCA, AAWW, and Hyperallergic! Wear your ugliest holiday sweater and bring your friends!! We’ll be ready for you with spiked punch, live music, and fun. A portion of the proceeds go to benefit CAAAV, for their excellent response to the needs of Chinatown post Hurricane Sandy.

 

 

Prizes for UGLY SWEATERS include: limited-edition Jeremy Lin t-shirts by Epic Proportions; an autographed copy of Shattered, the newly released second edition of Secret Identities, the Asian American comics anthology; a gift certificate from Midtown Comics; and original artwork by New York cartoonists Gary Sullivan, Bianca Stone, and more.

DJ Mas
Mas loves music. You can find him spinning monthly at the Parkside Lounge in the LES. He has also entertained folks in many other places as a DJ or as a member of P.I.C (www.picscape.com). Follow him on twitter (@musicbymas) for up to date gig postings and other fun stuff.

 

 

Masia One
Masia One, the Singaporean born and Canadian bred MC recently celebrated the release of her third studio album Bootleg Culture in NYC. For the NYC release Masia teamed up with international choreographer Hanna Herbertson & veteran disc jockey DJ Autograph of SweJam Productions. The three performed to a packed house receiving excellent reviews from all in attendance. Look out for the Bootleg Culture tour coming to a city near you.

 

Sheng Wang
Sheng Wang is a Taiwanese Texan who developed and honed his comedy in the thriving standup community of the San Francisco Bay Area. He performs jokes based on personal experiences and observations and addresses common non-sense with honesty and ill logic. His refreshingly affable stage presence combined with a healthy penchant for absurdity and self-deprecation make his act hilarious and universally accessible.

 

He has toured with the Comedians of Comedy and American Eagle’s ‘Campus Comedy Challenge.’ He has also appeared on Comedy Central’s ‘Live at Gotham' and attended the 'Just for Laughs’ comedy festival in Montreal. Wang's half hour Comedy Central special aired in 2011. NBC also awarded him with a holding deal that same year. Wang's appearance on the John Oliver NY Stand Up Show aired in August of 2012.
