Louis Andre is the CEO and co -founder with Sam Altman of Episteme, a new type of R&D company backed by Masayoshi Son and other visionary supporters of science and education. Episteme hires and brings together exceptional researchers whose scientific vision can change the world but who lack opportunities equal to their capacity. Beyond bringing together world-class talent, Episteme focuses on efficiently translating and commercializing research in ways that traditional institutions are not equipped to handle.

Trained as a scientist and engineer in AI and neuroscience, Louis pursued research across industry and various academic labs at Stanford, Harvard, UCL, and Princeton. Louis has also led moonshot scientific programs in collaboration with leading figures in Silicon Valley and brings additional finance experience from London-based Helios Investment Partners (the largest Africa-focused private equity firm). Beyond his work in industry and research, Louis advises nonprofit initiatives in education, culture, and science, such as the BrainMind Foundation and French President Macron’s Lafayette Fellowship.
