MOCACREATE: Writing From the Heart with Teaching Artist Yu Rong
November 21, 2026, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Join us on an adventure into Chinese characters and calligraphy with Teaching Artist Yu Rong! With over 4,000 years of history, Chinese characters have a lot to share with us. Ed Young explored just a few in his book Voices of the Heart on display in the special exhibit. Practice your own heart-writing, and maybe learn a new favorite word!
Please note, this workshop is designed as a casual, drop-in event accessible to families with children ages 6-14. The teaching artist will provide guidance, but no formal calligraphy instruction will be given. Adults interested in calligraphy should consider our upcoming Chinese Arts workshop events, led by the same teaching artist!
